UBES has a large, and growing, library of guidebooks and maps of areas that we visit as a society, as well as of areas our members like to visit. To borrow any book, contact our kit and safety officers, who will be only too happy to help.

If you’ve been somewhere exciting recently, and so you no longer need the guidebook for it, let us know, as it will make a great addition to our stock.

Maps

We have Ordnance Survey Explorer (1:25 000) and Landranger (1:50 000) maps of all the regions we run trips to, as well as areas local to Bristol and further afield. All the maps listed below are kept in stores, but feel free to ask about any other. Check which map you need on the Ordnance Survey Map Sheet Finder. We also have a limited selection of Harvey Maps.

If we don’t have it, tell the UBES Forum about your adventure planned, and hopefully someone will be able to help. Please be aware that if we are running a trip soon, then we will need all our copies of the relevant maps, so you won’t be able to borrow those.

Guidebooks

UBES has a wide range of guidebooks, covering walking, scrambling, climbing and more. If you’ve been somewhere recently and no longer need the guidebook you bought, let us know and I’m sure it will prove useful to future UBESters.
