The UBES Social Secretaries organise a wide range of socials and events throughout the year, from relaxed weekly meet-ups to some of the Society’s bigger annual traditions.
Regular and annual socials may include:
- Black Tie Christmas House Party – often held around the Mendips Challenge and featuring the infamous UBES punch.
- Christmas Dinner
- Pancake Party
- Pub Quiz
- UBES Ceilidh
- Scavenger Hunt – teams compete around Bristol and beyond by completing a range of unusual challenges.
- Post-exams BBQ
We also run themed socials, fancy dress events and bar crawls throughout the year. Previous themes have included ideas such as “When I Grow Up” and “Board Games”.
Weekly Pub Social
Members can usually be found at the Highbury Vaults on Wednesday evenings from around 8pm. It is a relaxed way to meet other members, and you are very welcome to come along.
Not every UBES social revolves around drinking, and we aim to offer a varied programme of events throughout the year.
